Is it only the ios apple calendar? I abandoned that years ago for google calendar and it looks like I can't use google calendar? (also I note this is from 2021 and I'm writing from May 3, 2023
Yes, Penbook syncs with iOS's built-in Calendar app. You can use your Google calendar - just add it to the built-in Calendar app so Penbook can read it. (You don't have to use the built-in app beyond that, you should be able to keep using your third-party app and Penbook will pick up the changes from the built-in app.)
Wait, back the fire truck up! WHERE can I get this double page spread as shown in the blog post? I've looked under every drop down Rock I can find but its well hidden. Please don't tell me this is just an artful rendition of Penbook. Don't tease me like that. Its just cruel.

Reminders? Is that in the pipeline?
How do I get the calendar to update when I add new entries to my gcal?

Sorry but it is indeed just an artful rendition! No cruelty intended.
Not to tease you further, but something like this may appear in a future stationery update.
I love this feature - one of the main reasons why I like penbook versus good notes or zinnia
